Day 7-Barcelona

The Day After The Night Before

The Day After, The Night

Barcelona always feels louder when you’re about to leave.
The seagulls sound cheekier, the scooters faster, the coffee stronger.
I woke early, sunlight creeping through the shutters, the city just beginning to stretch awake.

Isabella was still asleep on the sofa — tangled hair, one arm draped across her face, an empty cava glass balanced dangerously on the table. I smiled. “Lightweight,” I whispered, pulling the blanket over her.

The studio week had blurred into a thousand frames — laughter, chaos, art, and a bit of magic we hadn’t planned.
I made coffee and stepped onto the balcony. The rooftops glowed gold, the sea a quiet strip of silver on the horizon.

Our Last Day Together

I thought about everything we’d done. Every moment caught on camera — and every one we didn’t share.
For once, there was no rush. No makeup call, no countdown. Just the sound of the city breathing and the taste of salt in the air.

When Isabella finally joined me, my phone buzzed, she sent me a selfie of the two of us — from last night.
“Figured you’d want to keep it, so you can remember how it felt,” she said.

I grinned as I looked at it — we were two silhouettes, in the room with candlelight surrounding us.
“Yeah,” I said softly. “Some stories don’t need editing.”

We clinked mugs instead of glasses. The trip was done. The city, like always, had taken more than it gave. But it gave enough.

Airport Departure

After saying our goodbyes Isabella and I parted company. I wondered how long it would be for us to met up again. She is a good friend, one of only a few I would call “My BFF.” Only one other person came close to Isabella, and that was Natasha.

We shed a few tears and hugged it out, then I got into the taxi to take me to the airport. I was in the Departure lounge waiting for my plane, when I looked at the pic Isabella sent me of us together the night before.  I decided to send her a pic of me smiling and happy. I don’t like goodbyes, they’re too sad.

My plane was ready to board, I would be back home in London in a few hours. Finny how the universe works. I just got a message from Natasha saying she’d arrived home after her amazing trip to Bali and Thailand.  Looking forward to seeing her.  Next stop, London.
